Bio

Annah Zaman was born in Milwaukee WI, and spent most of her life in the Midwest.  She is the first of a set of identical twins.  Annah has been involved in music and singing from a tender age.  She performed at the Solo Ensemble voice competitions throughout her middle and high school years, and went on to compete with great success at State Level on multiple occasions.

Annah considers Madison, WI her home, where she arrived during the summer of 2000 to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a medical practitioner.    Between 2000 and 2005 she completed her degree at the University of Wisconsin – Madison Medical School, earning a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies.  For two years after graduation, Annah worked in hospital internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, and then made the move to Chicago after meeting her husband.

Though it was on an extended hiatus during these years, it was her music that Annah reconnected with to find peace during trying and tenuous times in her life between fall 2005 and spring 2006.  After six years away from her guitar, she returned to it and found healing in composing during difficult times.  In her own words, “Music was my truest companion and outlet during those times, the best form of therapy to maintain any sense of sanity and balance.  When nothing else made sense and I didn’t feel like I belonged anywhere, I could pick up my guitar and feel completely at peace.”

Annah hopes and looks forward to reaching a wide array of lives, people, and experiences through her music.

At present, Annah balances her busy schedule between medicine and music, working as a full-time physician assistant and devoting her free-time to pursuing a music career. Annah is devoted to her family and maintains a very close relationship with them, and her friends, as well as her two cats, whom she affectionately refers to as her “kids,” for the time being.
